King David of Israel and Robert Nesta Marley

Here's my personal vow I read to Yovan, my husband, on our wedding day, March 12.

"I asked you one random question last year; If you could have anyone, dead or alive, singing at your wedding... who would that be?
You answered King David of Israel. I wanted Bob Marley.
That conversation reminds me of how different we are, yet so much alike.
For obvious reasons, none of them can make it tonight. However, I am sure the most important guest is here. That is Jesus Christ

You once said that I am one of God's favourite and you've been treating me like one too.
I have so much to say to you right now but I'll keep it for when the guests are gone

Here comes the real part...

When things get hard. Because we know someday it will
When God says no. Because sometimes He might
Or when it's really hard for you to understand my crazy idea about life, when I am too stubborn, when you realised I'll never be a good cook... and when the weight of the world is on our shoulders or when we are sick...
I hope you'll find the heart to remind us what we have promised God today

I love you, and I cannot wait to glorify God in this marriage with you ❤

Bride and Baby Boy

It has been years since I have this haunting image. Of me, and my baby boy, on my wedding day. He will sit on my lap and just snuggle with me at the end of the reception night.

I can smell icing sugar and jam from the cake on his face, and pop soda... and he would just crash there with me after all that sugar rush from earlier. I would be under the influence of Cab Sav, so I would not be upset with him about that.

Do not ask me how's that going to happen and why, although I used to think of who am I going to do this with.

Now, not so much. Or, not at all?

But, I just think it's a beautiful thing to imagine. That's all.

Three's a Charm: Wedding in April

Well here are some pictures of Peter and Yosefin's wedding last night. I will share some more later. In a nutshell, it was a sweet, warm and colorful one! Us bridesmaids got to wear two dresses, we got to dance with the bride and groom's parents and families who have flown to Bali from all over the world. Food, drinks, wine were just fantastic!
I love you Yosefin, you have been a sweet friend of 10 years for us... I wish you a marriage that is just as beautiful as your wedding.
xoxo.

Some part of the conggregation;)

Great News!

Have you met my sister Detri ? The cute, funny girl with a megawatt smile?  Well, this post is to dedicated to her and to share a happy news as she is now busy preparing her ... wedding! Yes, she will tie the knot with her boyfriend of 4 years, in November this year. The wedding will take place in our late Dad's hometown, Siborong-Borong - North Sumatra! How excitingly crazy is that? If you think wedding reception preparation is pain, then a traditional Batak ceremony is like 5 times more complicated :))... But of course it's good to still carry what we inherit from the ancestors.
My Mom is of course on cloud 9 with this plan and we have been praying with an aching but happy heart ever since. We have never been there since decades ago. Well, I do not want to make this about the whole family so I will stop talking about the hometown now.
It was not an easy road for the bride and groom to be. They have to overcome differences and struggle with adjustments like any other couple. Her boyfriend, Oki Leonardus- is a very quite and introvert person and Detri is anything but those two! But somehow, no matter how I can be so skeptical about the power of Love, now I admit that  it can win :). Love, I mean :)
I wish you all the love in the world sis!

You may kiss the Bride

I have been thinking about wedding kisses recently. Maybe because I attended my dear friend's wedding last week. The wedding was so sweet yet intimate.
Why again? Maybe because I just love an image that captures the object's emotion.

Are you married? What was the wedding like? How was the kiss?Did you do a big wet one at the altar? Or you think you should you keep it small and grandparent-friendly (as in; you sniff more than you smooch)? Have a look on a few lovely wedding-kiss moments below.

They look edgy and adorable!
She giggles! how cute is that?
Simply sweet and romantic

Last... the Royal kiss and the slightly disturbed flower girl ;)

Grow digitally old with you

The environmentalist may not agree with this idea, but this wedding invitation is beyond  genius and it is so hilarious it instantly cracks me up  :))
In October 2008, director of Mash, Dom Roberts marry the beautiful Helena. Dom took a week away from other projects to concentrate on creating a unique and memorable piece to be used as a wedding invitation. The concept was to use the concept of ‘growing old together’. Face shots were then taken of the bride and groom which Dom then used as a basis to create a chronological representation of their aging faces into the future. 10, 20, 30 and 40 years into the future, growing old together. The scarily realistic results where then presented in an A5 booklet on uncoated paper with thread stitching. This was packaged in a specially designed pack and printed with one colour ink. Many a laugh was had by those invited to the big day.
