Run Till You Drop

This "Run Till You Drop" race was a bit different. You were given an option; register to run for 2hrs or 3hrs. If you register for the 2hr one, you will need to run a minimum of 5 laps (each is 2.5KM) to get your finisher medal. For the 3hr one, you need to do a minimum of 8laps.

Since my aim is to do my first Full Marathon this August, I registered for the 3hr one. "I need to train my endurance." I told myself.
I have done a good trail running before, a 25K in Lake Toba that took me about 3:19 minutes because of the trek. So I was like... "Hmm, I should do better this time."

The flat road was nice, but... handling boredom was tough! Running around and around the same loop as many times as you can was not that easy.

My sister and my partner were there. Giving me cheers and encouragement and we high five each other whenever I run passed the starting spot. My partner helped me changed clothes on my fifth lap!

Thank to be God, I did 10 laps! Two laps more than the minimum requirement, tho my pace was not my very best. Fighting boredom and telling your body to not give up was hard, but I am glad I did it.

God is good.

Next: Jogjakarta Marathon!

I made to top 10 as the 6th female runner with the most laps covered!

Going Bananas. Literally.

Asics DynaFlyte and compression socks, thank you for being with me for almost a year now.

Another step(s) closer to Ultra

So, this happened.

What's the trick this time?
Train with someone with a better pace than you. My running partner runs at 6'45 and my best record was 7'10 (comfort zone at 7'30, lazy mode at 7'45).
So when we run together, I pushed my self to stay at my best, and even better! At the end of the run, I could not believe myself that I can manage to run in that pace all 17K through.

PS: I lost one toe nail.

Running Tips(s): Another 500 Metres and take it from there

After trying hard not to give up on running for the last two years, I decided to run "out of my comfort 5K to 7K runs".
It just happened a few weeks ago when I lace my shoes up and a subtle voice echoes "Look, just try to run another 500 meters after your 7K, and take it from there."
It seems like a lazy idea at first but I actually tried it!

"Another 500 meters, girl..." I whispered to myself the moment my running apps told me that I have completed my 7K.
"And take it from there..."

And you know what, I stopped at 12K!
My 10K time is 1:08, then I went very slow for next 2K. It is not the fastest timing at the end but boy was I proud! Simply because I did not stop.
Finishing a 12K has made me feel confident to train harder for my first half marathon!
And what comes after that run? Now my comfort run is elevated to become a 7K-10K long.

Do you have any running tip(s) you want to share?
