Earth Day

This is more than a 'just cause':).
I have been doing my little part in keeping the environment clean; not using plastic bags when I do grocery shopping, refusing the shop attendants if they offer me one when I am only purchasing a few items I can just throw in my bag, and... never litter!
The house I am about to move into in a few weeks, is also prepared for me to make it green:)

How about you? What little efforts and or habits you think you can do or now doing to be part of earth's little saviors? What are you telling your children about it?

ps: An earthy tips for us to learn.

Look at the sky!

I have a thing... Well you can name them; socks, lingerie, books, older men, geeks, bad boy, cartoon!.... But, do you know that I also have a thing for... skies!
The first thing I do when I wake up is looking out of my window, up to the sky. I am residing in Bali, so this particular fetish of mine is pretty much on its good level of satisfaction ;). Weird eh?
The picture below is not one I witnessed. Somehow this gives me an idea about sharing you beautiful skies I captured in my so called smart phone;p. I keep sending them to my siblings to make them feel even sorry for the grey sky they have to live under most of the days... Hahaha.. Oh how I can be mean.

Empire of the Sun(s)

Whoa! NASA said its Kepler telescope has found a planet that orbits two suns -- a larger K dwarf and a smaller red dwarf, seen above in an illustration. The planet has been nicknamed Tatooine, the Star Wars body that also had two suns.

captured by a dearest talented friend of mine

And Old Bastard Like Me

I read this month's Forbes Indonesia just now and as usual, flip directly to the Thoughts page. This time, its on Japan. Many interesting insights, some give you goosebumps, some seems to be a little bit overwhelming. But there is one statement that caught my heart . A bit bitter but honest. A bit too proud of self but I can also sense the fear and a glimpse of willingness to repent at the same time...I don't know... the statement is leaving me hanging here and. My mind wanders off to other facts and questions in life... Maybe I can post about that later. Now, i just want to share this one. (see statement circled in red).

A Walk with a view

This view caught my eyes on my way to lunch at the hotel where I work for. Simply a breath taking blue sky. I am easily amazed by nature, no matter how simple. I can laugh in happiness watching a squirrel set by a tree munching over a peanut, I can be in such euphoria spotting a bird nest. So, this one I consider as a teeny perk of nature during the day. May not be very grand, but i thanked the nature for it. And God, of course. (I took the picture with my blackberry phone camera,no editing whatsoever. Imagine how a DSLR camera will capture it) .Anyway... It feels good to be grateful for simple things. Hope you are too...

The Tree of Knowledge

by Vladstudio

Oh how I love to read. I love books. I am an old fashioned reader. The scent from the old paper, the soft sound it made as I turn the page over. Literature, classics, and communications or creative related books, poetry collections, are the genre I devour to.

The picture can reflects 2 different insight to me- it can be the symbol on how knowledge should be well planted for a significant growth, or how nature has lost its life by sacrificing too much.

I appreciate the nature- I dwell on the enormous power and the extravagant beauty. But I don't think I can turn to an electronic reader for 100 % , even if kindle/ nook is affordable. Yes, e reading can be very efficient- look what I am doing now- I blog! But, there are joyful moments I keep seeking in reading the old fashioned way.
Solution? I found buying used books and treasure your old ones are the way to stay in between. Sometimes you have to.

What's bigger than nature's force?

As prayers sent to all the victims of recent catastrophic earthquake and tsunami in Japan , let us take a brief moment to be grateful, and admit that there still is something bigger awaits... And those are..

  • The ability to accept loss and to bounce from grief
  • Noble souls and hands with an urge to help- putting aside acknowledgement or even a good karma
  • A brave man saying “I surrender Lord”
  • A heart who repents
  • Remedy
  • A broken heart filled with scars- gracefully mend
  • FAITH
  • HOPE
  • Of course... LOVE
  • Salvation
  • Psalm 91:7
  • Matthew 24:35
