Why I don't party much

I have many (stupid) reasons for not going out partying every weekend. Those days are gone. I can re visit the excitement for night or two but never more than that in a month. You do not have to agree with me and I really am not asking for an understanding. Truth is, all the reasons are pretty lame and silly.

Main reasons:
I hate waking up to a tired-dry skin and red weary eyes. A lady's skin should be delicate and moist. Hence, my reason for not wanting to smoke too. See...  I can be shallow too. It is not "Because I have better ideas on how to spend money"... No. Too far. I am lame but not that obnoxiously skeptical and definitely not that wise. I just really love my skin condition as it is. Not fair and flawless but healthy. And, an overdone make up is never my favorite way of disguise. I also never went for a facial treatment all my life. Enough sleep, water and no smoking are pretty much the secret. So that's reason number one; my skin. *big grin

Another silly reason; I refrain from being photographed with hazy smokes all over my face, not to mention have a pouting face posing next to me. Really. You are not a duck, girl!
I am no skinny bitch. I eat like a dude, and somehow, a thin figure does not seem to be my style. If I go out every weekend, not only that I will have a "lemon sucking" face, I also be having fevers and headache as a result of waking up too late. I hate that. And yes, I am a sucker for morning risers.
So if I pull myself out home before dawn breaks, please understand that it has nothing to do with you. I just want my beauty sleep. There's reason number 2 and 3: Pictures and sleeping hours.

:)) Go ahead and laugh.... That's fine since I know how silly that sounds but that is the truth :)).
But we can go out next weekend dear... Do not worry about that. I got that covered with tons of water I will be keeping in the car.
Cheers!

Quirky e Cards

Been smiling, smirking, laughing over SomeEcards collection this evening :)

A Chronicle to my root

In weeks time,  our big family will be flying out to Siborong-Borong for my sister's wedding. A little village that can be reached by a 5 hour drive from Medan (the capital of North Sumatra). Siborong-borong is a coffee-growing region—looms adorn the porches of almost every home. Batak (North Sumatra tribe) women use them to weave beautiful garments called ulos, as they have for centuries. These fine cloths are believed to keep the soul. Like the ulos, the Batak coffee farmers’ also reflects a craftsmanship and artistry passed down through generations. I cannot recall my late Dad or Grandparents ever carry this skill but it always good to always get familiar with the roots.

I was there... last time in early 1992. My grandpa from Hutasoit side; Alfred Hutasoit was still a healthy fine looking gentlemen with this very thick Dutch mindset and discipline, a music genius (Piano and that darn Violin), literate in both Dutch and German. The Dutch influence was simply by the colonization but the German mostly because the first Christian missioner to North Sumatra was Ludwig Ingwer Nommensen (6. February 1834 – 23 May 1918). He was a German Lutheran missionary  who also translated the New Testament into the native Batak language.
Grandpa got really-really sick after that visit if I am not mistaken, we moved him to Jakarta, after he passed on, we buried him in his village. In his enormous backyard- side by side to his lovely wife who passed away few years before. So, a visit to the old house is a must for me. I will post you a picture after.

The fact of a literally 2 decades of absence does not fades the memories of the streets, the cool weather, the smell of my grandparents cornfields, the warm feeling you get in the barn where they keep the woods for fire, even the pig stalls. I know, I will probably see nothing of that later. The house is now being taking care of by a relatives and of course- they have their own style and idea about home.
But I must tell you, I have my heart all pounding an aching. Excited and nervous at the same time.
The village was an important piece of my Dad's past life when he was young and you know how much I adore my Dad. And despite the fact that I have never really lived there, I always believe that there is nothing thicker than blood. So, getting back to know your heritage and roots... is just heartwarming.  I can guarantee a teary eyes from me.
See you soon little village. And may God bless my sister's wedding.

Secret Crush

Do you have one? Like back in high school or college? What type of crush? One who you think that " He does not even know that I am alive" type? (Checked!). The "If only you can break up with your girlfriend at this time, I do not mind losing her as a clique" kind? (Guilty!) .

Those days are long way behind. I had this conversation with a friend via chat messenger last night and she told me about this crush, after an almost 10 years of a happy marriage, a daughter; she has a crush!(By the way, I already got a permission from her to post about this). The thing is, she married her high school sweet heart. They have been together for a long time. Sum up with the marriage, maybe around 15 years. Together. So imagine the confusion, the anxiety, the wonders and all twirls of "what ifs" she was having. She said there is nothing she wanted to do at all because not only that she still wants to stay in the marriage, this man she was having an eye for is not that much of a stranger. They both know him well.

So, she told her husband about it. Result? They got into a big fight, separated for a few days, back together, clear things up, and ended up being hot for each other again. Turns out the crush gave an essential vibe! They did not let the guy know about this so it stays as a secret.
I know, not many couples are as lucky and open minded. But it thrills me to know this worked out fine for them.
Conclusion, never avoid the possibility of having a crush... perhaps? Or be a crush for someone else? If it's turning into something serious, you work it out. If it's not? Why bother labeling everything? It is fine to live in the moment once in a while. And a girl can decide on this thing to. The call is no longer all yours, gentlemen ;-)
Darn it I am such a rookie when it comes to wrap stories with a " the moral of the story" . You go figure!

Awesome Monday: Awesome People Hanging Out Together ; Tupac and Joshua

Good morning. Having a public holiday replaced on Monday is a bliss. Well, I kinda have to go to the office later anyway but not to stay all day :).
This week's Awesome Monday , is still inspired by this captivating tumblr, however I have to let you know that this particular edition is highly influenced by my sweet long time - have not seen him in ages too- elementary school friend; Anom Danas . He shared this image a few days ago. I did not find it on my usual source, but instead, here
The story behind the picture is what moved my heart to post it- despite the different source:
In 1993, Tupac recieved a letter from the parents of a dying boy, named Joshua. They said it was Joshua’s last wish to meet Tupac. Tupac flew to Maryland to meet Joshua and took him to a basketball game. Soon after Joshua’s death, Tupac renamed his publishing company from Ghetto Gospel Music to Joshua’s Dream.

Enjoy your Monday lovely people. Tupac was an answer to Joshua's dream. Try to be one's awesome answer today. No matter how small the request or the question is.
ps: My all time favorite poem from Tupac: The Rose that grew from a crack in the concrete

Falling Slowly

My friend tweeted this song earlier (yes, I mean you Kelly) And I am intrigued to play it since I do have it in my laptop. I have a few tracks of Glen Hansard songs and this one is one of his best. The song is... haunting. It has a dark edge and maybe that is why I like it. Will catch on the movie soon.
ps: Take this sinking boat and point it home... We still got time...  Raise your hopeful voice, you have a choice. You've made it now.

A Mistake

And, as usual, I did not regret it at all. The very minute I clear my head out of it, something good came out. I am one step ahead of my own track. Nothing to do with anyone else.  Just like what it says here below; And I understand.
