Marilyn Monroe's Rare Photos

Another one on Monroe? Hmmm... I own a vintage shirt with her picture on it. I love it. Will share you a picture of me wearing the shirt later. And, of course you may have noticed that her name pops quite often in this blog. When LIFE published this rare picture series of hers, there is now way that I will wait on another second to post it here. This beauty deserves it.

All photos from LIFE .

Remedy

Severe migraine! How do you cope with it? If it happens at work- I always draw myself for a quick walk all around the resort all the way to the beach and back to the office after drinking a big glass of water. It usually helps. If not, well... aspirin to the rescue. If it happens on my day off... grrrr; music, a quick nap and some old-classic picture browsing will do the magic.
I fell for this picture at one look. Then I play some Sinatra's, Etta James' and Al Green's tracks that puts me down to a quick nap. Migraine begone!
And if only an old music store like one in this picture is existing somewhere around the corner, I would love to take a walk even under the rain (like now), for a soulful remedy.
I want to know. Are you a big pill popper when it comes to cure a headache? If not, what do you do?

Edith Shain

Whoa! Look what I found in Photo of the Day!

Edith Shain, holding the iconic photograph taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt. Originally published in LIFE Magazine, the photo depicts a sailor kissing Edith Shain in her nurse’s uniform, in Times Square on August 14, 1945.

I am boggled away.

Inspiration Sunday: Soldier meet his baby for the first time

from Krystall

My heart skip a beat!

This is a story from Chad Flemming. His wife had her first baby girl a month after Chad deployed.
One of the most emotional experience in Chad's family life : for them to witness him to see their baby on for the first time when she was 6 months old.

Source: here .

My prayers to all the brave people out there with aching heart of leaving their loved ones at home.
As for those who have all the time and chance to show your love... why missing any second? :)

Love,
Someone who never miss a chance saying I love you to families and loved ones.

ps: Thanks for keep reading my Inspiration Sunday and sorry I missed it last week.

Peekaboo

Can you imagine what kind of an adventurous (fun, crazy,) life that this baby girl will be having? And don't forget all the drama and irritation of being over protected by the big brothers and all the awkwardness if one of their friend is a cutie?
Oh how I always love all the works from Peekabo Photography ... It gets me wander...

Old Loves

This photo tumblr is like a beautiful irony. It contains celebrity couples who are used to be lovers. You can find pictures of love stories from many years behind to today's affairs and relationships. Kinda cute but also a bit sad. A bit.

I would love to show this to my Mom and ask "Do you know the story? can you tell it to me?" If I found ones that are from certain era I have no knowledge of. Like, I did not know that Al Pacino was once an item with Diane Keaton!
ps: thanking my fave blogger for sharing this.

ps.ps : If you have seen and like Citizen Kane (ahem, yes a black and white movie), you would love to know that the brilliant director's picture is in there too. See my first picture here;

Orson Welles (yes the Director) and Rita Hayworth
Al Pacino and Diane Keaton

Lenses you should own

This article is very helpful. If you are new in photography and having this typical question:
" What lenses should I buy?". This is your rescue:
I jumped off a little knowing that my favorite macro lens is included as the "should own" !

Lumix Photo competition

Ever heard of Lumix Kita ? . They are organizing a major photography competition online- Photo Contest/ Festafet . Category varies from People, Places etc and all images submitted for the contest must be taken by Panasonic Lumix.

Just so happen that I am one of the jury/contributor for Bali area which obliges me to chose one top image from 4 winners and create a copy ( in Bahasa) for each of the selected images. Never hurt to earn some extra cash indeed *wink. And tell you the truth, I feel like a different person whenever I am writing in Bahasa. More like a poet than a blogger. I like it!

If you read and or speak Bahasa, you can have a look at it here . Two out of the four articles that I created is Perempuan Bali dan Panggung ( Balinese woman and her stage) and Ke Lapangan dulu! ( Let's us first go to the soccer field!).
If you do not speak Bahasa but you are into photography, you may want to participate by voting. No, not for me, for the contestants.

There's a funny story behind the process. I almost fail to send  the articles in time since it was processed in the middle of my trip to North Sumatra and the area was a bit remote. My brother came to the rescue by accompanying me to this dodgy-super gross internet booth near Lake Toba so that I can send my work to the organizer. Oh how we adore technology...

On Future

You know how I not so secretly hoping, dreaming, planning to have my own children someday? Two boys and a girl to be precise. Yes, I am a detail freak when it comes to dreams :). Well, when I browse through this page containing heartwarming images of children hanging out, playing, doing chores and what not, this particular image struck me and I just want to post it here. As a little reminder, way to vision my dream better :). My children having a good time at the beach? Sounds very very real.

Young Talent

I am laughing in adoration and pain when I browse to the work and read an article about this young young talented photographer Isabella Connelley  . She is a living, roaring 16 years old artist!
Read her say below;
I’m sixteen and I live in Sydney Australia. I started taking photos when I was offered dark room photography at school and ever since I have been in love with photography of all kinds. I love how images can take you to a different world how they can make you feel different emotions.
