I never really care about the weather until I live in Bali
I used to adore a fair skin- Now I don't mind with a little tan

Life In A Jar

insert: Irena Sendler (15 February 1910 – 12 May 2008)
Source: The Prize does not always go to the most deserving.

There was a lady named Irena. During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an 'ulterior motive' ... She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews. Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids..) She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.. During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants. She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family. Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.
In 2007, Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize ... She was not selected.
Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming.

Bukan Nocturno

(Aku tahu, aku rindu sampai pilu)

The Tree of Knowledge

by Vladstudio

Oh how I love to read. I love books. I am an old fashioned reader. The scent from the old paper, the soft sound it made as I turn the page over. Literature, classics, and communications or creative related books, poetry collections, are the genre I devour to.

The picture can reflects 2 different insight to me- it can be the symbol on how knowledge should be well planted for a significant growth, or how nature has lost its life by sacrificing too much.

I appreciate the nature- I dwell on the enormous power and the extravagant beauty. But I don't think I can turn to an electronic reader for 100 % , even if kindle/ nook is affordable. Yes, e reading can be very efficient- look what I am doing now- I blog! But, there are joyful moments I keep seeking in reading the old fashioned way.
Solution? I found buying used books and treasure your old ones are the way to stay in between. Sometimes you have to.

Angsana dan Matahari

Matahari mengintip.

Angsana tertawa. Karena rantingnya tak terasa dingin lagi, karena daunnya tak jadi mati, karena semut-semut dibawahnya berhasil mengumpulkan remah roti.
Angsana mencoba menggapai matahari, jangan pergi ... katanya...
Temani aku sejenak lagi.
Ia merengkuh bola pijar itu, dengan tangan yang hanya bisa dilihat dan dicintai matahari.

Angsana: Pterocarpus indicus

What's bigger than nature's force?

As prayers sent to all the victims of recent catastrophic earthquake and tsunami in Japan , let us take a brief moment to be grateful, and admit that there still is something bigger awaits... And those are..

  • The ability to accept loss and to bounce from grief
  • Noble souls and hands with an urge to help- putting aside acknowledgement or even a good karma
  • A brave man saying “I surrender Lord”
  • A heart who repents
  • Remedy
  • A broken heart filled with scars- gracefully mend
  • FAITH
  • HOPE
  • Of course... LOVE
  • Salvation
  • Psalm 91:7
  • Matthew 24:35
